It’s actually not that quick, but basically it’s about how annoyed I am when TV or movie writers utilize a certain treatment of scientists.
There was no appeal for me and I was getting bombarded by too many dumb selfies. Sorry friends, not sorry.
Is the best thing ever.
Done with all the testimonies today. Closing statements begin on Tuesday! Not sure how I’d feel if I didn’t get chosen as the twelve jurors that actually participate in deliberation. To go through the entire process and then not being able to discuss seems like a huge waste of time :(
I forgot to mention yesterday that one of the lawyers referenced Star Trek and proceeded to pretend to teleport suddenly in front of someone. Like sound effects and everything.
Today, the judge told us that the final witness is going to testify tomorrow, which possibly means that the trial may end a week earlier than scheduled. I don’t want to get my hopes up or anything but this would be seriously awesome. Then again… Don’t know how long deliberation will take. There’s so much evidence and testimonies to consider :((((
Got let out 45 min early today which was really nice… But today’s testimonies and cross examination questioning was really bad. Like ughhhhhh.
Chloe Bennet aka Skye from Agents of SHIELD looks so much like Michelle Branch. Whenever she’s on screen, I can’t help but bust out in song. ‘Cuz you’re everywhere to meeeeee’
My mom called today to tell me that because of the government shutdown they closed Yellowstone since it’s a national park. So unfortunate that my parents spent money to take my uncle and aunt from Australia on this bus tour just to be denied access to the highlight of the trip.
In addition to the usual trial nonsense, one of the lawyers entertained us with a hilarious stick figure drawing to give a general layout/idea of the incident. I wanted to laugh out loud so badly but I obviously couldn’t.
Kinda sad that I didn’t get to go to Harmontown this past Sunday. October will be the month that I finally go (hopefully)!!
Got to go home 40 minutes early. What a dream come true. Happy Friday everyone!
PS 75 sustained objections.
Only 37 today. But everything still sucks. Time to pass out.
Not sure if my daily headaches have been due to serving on this trial but I’m sure it’s contributing to them.
Although today was not record breaking, it was definitely brutal. I’m so anxious whenever I go to court because of how aggressive the defense attorney cross examines each witness. We’re on the 13th or 14th witness now and it just seems to get more aggressive as we proceed. I understand it’s his job to cross examine the witnesses but I wonder if he realizes how disrespectful or condescending he can appear at times.
