I was also invited/forced (I wasn’t allowed to say no) to their bday potluck. One of my coworkers made an amazing habanero salsa. My plate: carne asada taco, chips with seven layer dip, rice and beans👌👌👌
So before my first break, I got an email saying that the Project Team’s famous spinach dip was ready and that I was invited to drop by their cubes. This was seriously the best spinach dip ever (I helped myself to seconds). 😍😍😍
I don’t think strawberries are suppose to be this huge 😧😧😧
I finally tried making this tangerine peel “tea” esp since I’m coming down with a cold. I’ve had a terrible sore throat all day and when I drank this, my throat felt much better. Take your leftover peel, pour hot water over it and add honey as needed. It’s super simple and tastes pretty good. 👌
Found this random Disney pin in our kitchen drawer. After some research, all I could find out is that it’s a limited edition pin from 2003.
My parents picked the second jackfruit from our tree over the weekend. Didn’t have a banana for scale so I had to settle for a quarter instead.
After Disneyland on Sunday we went to Class 302 for dessert. Got the green tea shaved ice w/ red bean, milk pudding, mochi and condensed milk. We also shared delicious popcorn chicken. 😁😁😁
My mom made bánh kẹp lá dứa (pandan waffles) for dessert 👌👌👌
Had bún ốc (Vietnamese snail noodle soup) at my aunt’s tonight.
You can also get complementary Turkish tea at Istanbul Grill. It was perfect for the rain. The staff were super nice and helpful especially when we were deciding on dessert. Cliffbird and I shared the Keskul (almond pudding) and the Kunefe (shredded phyllo dough stuffed with sweet goat cheese). I personally enjoyed the almond pudding more. It was refreshing and not too sweet. The Kunefe was also good but it was just a tad too sweet for me. If you have a sweet tooth like Cliffbird, you’d probably enjoy the Kunefe too.
Got the Kebab combo plate w/ Adana kebab (seasoned ground lamb w/ crushed red pepper) and Döner kebab (Turkish style gyro). Both were super flavorful. I highly recommend the Adana kebab though. Definitely gonna come back to Istanbul Grill to try their other dishes.
Tried out Istanbul Grill today for lunch. You can get a free Turkish coffee when you check into Yelp! The complementary pita bread was so fresh and delish. The dipping sauce was olive oil w/ sun dried tomato 👌👌👌
Went to Newport to see how high the waves were and grab some ham&cheese&jalapeño croissants from Seaside.
We so desperately need this rain. 🙏🙏🙏
My mom’s orchids are enjoying the rain. 🌿🌸🌿
